Our Aims

  • Empower pupils to lead confident independent lives enabling them to build their self- esteem and self- awareness irrespective of any disability, gender or cultural differences
  • To provide a safe and effective teaching and learning environment for pupils and staff where everyone respects the abilities, values and beliefs of others
  • To provide a broad and balanced curriculum based upon the New National Curriculum, Routes for Learning and Small Steps to meet the individual needs of each child
  • To develop a partnership between our school, parents, multi agencies and the wider community

The Secondary Curriculum

Pupils are offered a broad and balanced curriculum which includes English, Maths, ICT, Science, RE, Humanities, PE, Art and Design, Music, Design and Technology. The curriculum is based upon the New National Curriculum, Routes for Learning and Small Steps.

All students follow a Personal, Social, and Health education programme which includes careers education, life skills and sex education. Some pupils enjoy a sensory rich curriculum which includes rebound therapy and aromatherapy.
