Lifelong learning: Where we realise our Dreams through journeying towards a new and exciting Destination!
Lifelong Learning Mission Statement
At St. Giles we believe as a whole school community that “No dreams are out of reach” and to ensure our pupils are enabled to meet their goals we have a shared value system in place.
We want our pupils to have:
Determination- We know what we need to do to succeed
Resilience- If at first we don’t succeed, we try again.
Enthusiasm- we must want to learn and enjoy learning.
Aspirations- We must never lose the ambition to achieve high.
Motivation- We need you to believe that we can do it and to encourage us.
Success- We want you to celebrate our achievements however small they might be.
Within the Lifelong Learning Pathway we believe that in order to fully realise our dreams we must consider our journey through St. Giles and beyond; always striving for the next adventure and looking for a new and exciting destination.
We aspire to support our pupils to develop core principles enabling them to do what they choose to do, whatever that may look like. Searching for a new Destination is the motivation underpinning the Lifelong Learning Pathway. On our journey we are:
Driven to learn- through an inspiring curriculum we can broaden our horizons
Emotionally literate- we know how we feel and how to stay safe within our emotions
Safe and happy- we know how to look after ourselves and where we can access help
Truth talkers- we have our own voice and communicate our truth freely
Initiators- we take ownership of our learning through exploration and choice making
New opportunities- we aren’t bound by the walls of St. Giles, the world is our community to join!
Aiming for adulthood- we are always thinking of the next step.
Takers of risk- we want to challenge ourselves and aren’t afraid to fail.
Independent- we want to do as much as we can by ourselves but are not afraid to seek support
Owners of our bodies- we are proud of who we are and are empowered to make choices.
Navigators- we are forging our own pathway to our own destination.
Resources to Support Life Long Learning
Part of life long learning is developing an understanding of who we are as individuals and celebrating that as a whole community.
