Pupils are placed into two vertically streamed groups with pupils from Years 10 & 11. The groups are streamed broadly to academic ability which allows each group to have a curriculum suited to their needs. Groups follow a secondary model of using subject specialist teachers. The curriculum is tailored to the needs of the group and the individual. Each class has a form tutor whose specific role is to ensure the personal well-being of each pupil. Curriculum areas are managed by a subject leader whose job it is to overview the planning, delivery and assessment for the subject area.
One of our KS4 groups provide a curriculum for pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties. This group has specialist sessions and activities and have the added support of health care support workers as well as teaching assistants.
